This blog turned ten today.

I started it with the best intentions. I wanted to promote Australian music. Specifically, and quite selfishly, I wanted to promote the bands I liked, and to start talking about this new phenomenon of downloading music from the internet.

I even did some interviews.

Not too long after it turned into your typical kind of tech/music blog, ranting in the usual unqualified way about copyright, new technology, random nerdy stuff.

I've always avoided talking about my personal life and work, and I don't necessarily regret that, but I think it has made this blog far less interesting than it might have been.

I haven't blogged as much lately for various reasons...

I've been very busy at work. That is only going to get worse. I'm not all that enthusiastic about getting on the computer when I get home. I've posted less photos simply because Facebook has made that so much easier for me, and I haven't the energy to make it easier for myself by modifying this blog.

I have for months wanted to write more about music. When I listen to music I think about what I'd like to say about it... but none of it ever ends up here. I don't know why. I'm enthusiastic on the train, but by the time I get to work it has faded, and I hate blogging at work.

Perhaps I need a laptop? I could blog on the train... with half of Melbourne looking over my shoulder.

I realised recently that one of my favourite things is to look at my on this day list. Reading my old posts like stepping back in time.

If I don't continue to blog, I'll have nothing to look back on.

So I will try to blog more.

As Yoda never said, "there is no do, only try."
